Install Cooliris and turn your computer monitor into a moving image wall. Not only does it look fabulous but it could help visualize concepts and make creative connections. Not to mention it is great fun.

Green California
California’s Department of General Services site with information on legislation passed to support green building and links to more information.

Water Recycling and Reuse
EPA’s site on water recycling and reuse in Region 9 which includes California. Good information and links to more information plus a downloadable “Guidelines for Water Reuse.”

Smithsonian National Zoological Park
Lots of information and photographs of the animals at the zoological park. Fact sheets on the various animals, plus resources for further study.

Timeline of Discovery

Public Library of Science (PLoS)
Open access journals in a variety of topics. Support open access.

Encyclopedia of Earth
Reference source of articles on many topics about earth, environment and society. Great reference source to add to your list of online sources. Articles have bibliographies.

BioQUEST Curriculum Consortium
Share, explore, learn and use online learning modules and curriculum for teaching biology on this site. A neat use of Web2.0 technology.

Two new sources for video, sound and podcasts.

1. Macaulay library’s Animal Sound & Video Catalog: from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. A really nice resource with lots of video and animal behavior sound recordings.

2. Another great guide from the Library of Congress: Podcasts, Webcasts & Othe Digital Media Files. Tutorials on podcasting, definitions and sources of science podcasts. Good, quick overview and nice variety of links.
